Full Recovery Unit: Built for the Road

We were approached by an equipment manufacturer who came to CEL Sheetmetal with a demanding brief: produce a robust shell for a mobile fuel recovery unit designed for roadside call-outs.

The client supplied the design, and our role was to take it from concept through to a fully finished product. The enclosure needed to withstand harsh conditions, safeguard pumps, tanks and hoses and fully comply with strict fuel safety and transport regulations. At the same time, the build had to be portable, durable and precise, as every component needed to fit perfectly first time.

We transformed the client’s design into reality. Our engineers first created a full 3D model to confirm accuracy and feasibility before moving into production. Using advanced laser cutting and folding, we produced every panel to exacting tolerances. These were then assembled and welded with precision to guarantee structural strength and perfect alignment. Using high-grade steel, we fabricated a structure tough enough for demanding environments yet built to exacting tolerances. Our team integrated safety-compliant features such as venting, secure mounting points and containment seals, while protective finishes were applied to guard against corrosion, vibration and exposure to fuel.

Once assembled, the shell was treated with protective painting and finishing processes to ensure long-term resistance to corrosion, vibration, and fuel exposure. The result was a precision-built enclosure that not only met strict safety and regulatory standards but extended the lifespan of the unit and gave our customer confidence that their equipment would perform reliably. By working closely from the design stage, we were also able to shorten lead times and deliver the product ready for immediate deployment.
